Phrase

هي عبارة عن مجموعة من الكلمات التي لا تعطي معنى بمفردها في تعتبر جزء من الجملة

Verb phrases

وهي العبارات أو شبه الجمل التي تحتوي على فعل وبعض الإضافات الأخرى

I can't eat that.

My mother is making us a cake.

The English teacher was writing an essay.

Noun phrases

وهي العبارات التي تحتوي على اسم مع إضافات أخرى

Prepositional phrases

وهي عبارات تحتوي على حرف جر مع إضافات أخرى

Ex

My bag is on your table.

Our chalet is near the beach.

Sonia goes to the gym in the morning. 

Adjective phrases

هي عبارات تحتوى على صفة مع إضافات أخرى

Ex

Omar is taller than Ramy.

The movie was not too funny.

It was hot weather.

Adverb phrases

هي عبارات تحتوي على ظرف مع إضافات أخرى

Ex

I will see you tomorrow.

My father is driving so quickly.

Her baby was shouting very loudly yesterday.

Clause

هي عبارة عن جملة تحتوي على فاعل وفعل ويوجد منها نوعين يا إما تعطي فكرة كاملة

subordinateأو لا تعطي فكرة كاملة وتسمى بال main or independentوتسمى بال

or dependent

ولها عدة أنواع سنتعرف عليها لاحقا

Sentence

هي جملة تحتوي على فعل وفاعل ويجب أن تكون تامة المعنى

sentence تصبح clause ولكن ليس كل clause هي sentence فبتالي كل
