الظرف أو الحال من الكلمات المهمة للتحدث باللغة الإنجليزية وهي واحدة من أجزاء

 الكلام التي تعتبر من الفئات أو المجموعات المفتوحة بمعنى أن لاحصر لعددها

⬤ An adverb

An adverb is a word that describes or modifies a verb, an adjective, a preposition, a whole sentence, or another adverb.

الظرف أو الحال هو كلمة تصف لنا الفعل أو الصفة أو حرف الجر أو الجملة كاملا أو حال آخر

✦ Modifying a verb

Ex. The water flows smoothly.

✦ Modifying an adjective

Ex. That is a very beautiful dress.

✦ Modifying a preposition

Ex. His abilities are decidedly above the average.

✦ Modifying a whole sentence

Ex. Unfortunately, he had no time to listen to my complaint.

Ex. She speaks quite fluently.

Ex. Amir had to drive quickly to catch the train.

هي ظروف تشير إلى مكان

Ex. No one stays here now.

هي ظروف تشير إلى الوقت

Ex. I am going to travel to London tomorrow.

✦Adverbs of degree 

هي ظروف تشير إلى شدة أو درجة الصفة

Ex. He is very rich.

✦Numeral adverbs 

هي ظروف تشير إلى العدد 

Ex. Our postman always knocks twice.

✦Adverbs of frequency 

هي ظروف تشير إلى التكرار

Ex. We often walk to work in the morning.

✦Interrogative adverbs 

هي ظروف تشير إلى الاستفهام

Ex. Where are your keys?

✦Conjunctive adverbs 

هي تشبه الاستفهام ولكن لا تستخدم للسؤال وإنما تستخدم للربط بين الجمل

Ex. I know where he lives.
